Fields Of The Woods Trip

We've finally got a kid old enough to take pictures of us! yay... thanks Nathan. lol

Doesn't he look so happy? lol

We headed out to Murphy NC where the Fields Of The Woods is. I hadn't been for years and the kids and Joe had never been so it was lots of fun to check it out again!

We always try to keep it healthy and fun so we try to do activities outdoors and see new sites. You know what a health nut I am!

You can't help but get some exercise going up these stairs! We went up both sides. lol

If you are ever in the area it's definitely a cool place to check out!

Will's First Hair Cut and Nate Gets One Too

Well since Joe is home now we decided to get Will's first hair cut. He looks too grown up now!

William did great with his hair cut considering how little he is. Almost 18 months old now. =) I can't believe it. He did have a little bit of a fussy time though. hehe

Nathan said that he behaved a lot better than William did. :-P

Later that night Mom and Dad watched the boys so we could go to the movies. We saw Transformers 2. Rockin movie! A little much language for me though. :-/ Worth checking out.

Ripley's Aquarium Of The Smokies

Great to finally have Joe home so we can get some decisions made!

Tuesday morning!

What do you want to do today? I don't know what do you want to do today?

After about 30 minutes of that we decided on going to Ripley's Aquarium Of The Smokies. They are very supportive of the military so if you are in the military make sure you go and get a good military discount.

There are so many cool things to see at Ripley's and we try to go back pretty often. Now that William is old enough to enjoy it it was even more fun!

Our camera battery started dieing pretty quick into it. I guess we have been taking too many pictures. We haven't even had it for a week. lol Could be the videos too though.

Check out this one. We had some helium balloons left over from the welcome home. :-P

Anyway back to the Aquarium!

Can't wait to go back again!

River Adventure 7/6/09

It's always good to start out with a good breakfast. Don't forget the little helpers. They love to get their hands dirty. ;) Eggs turkey bacon and cinnamon rolls for breakfast! mmMmMMmMm. Had to throw something a little less "healthy" into the mix with the cinnamon rolls. haha

Later we went to get Joe a hair cut. Now he's all spiffied up! He still looks mean though. hehe :-P He was just glad to have a hair cut on U.S. soil.

Here I am looking like a goof with my jawbone bluetooth. lol I could have at least put my hair down. Oh well. There I am!!

Finally we get up to the river. It's so pretty this time of year. It would be awesome to rent a cabin there right about now. It's a lot cheaper than renting in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. lol

The water was a little chilly but after I got my feet wet it was really relaxing and the kids AND Joe love skipping rocks. It's just fun to watch them splashing around. :) Nathan learned how to skip rocks the last time we were at the river so he's super proud of himself!

Here is a funny video of what happens when you are paying attention. :-P

Kids these days. lol

We saw some big ole fish at the fish hatchery up above Bald River Falls but we didn't get any pics there. Not sure why not. Probably afraid that fish would eat our camera. haha

The kids were plumb tired when we got home!

Homecoming & Welcome Back Party

July 3rd Joe got back from Iraq. Check out the kissing we got on video. lol thanks channel 12! 591st Homecoming Celebration Video

That was Friday and we had our fireworks early that night. Hey! Get your mind out of the gutter. I was talking about real fireworks. lol

Saturday we did a little swimming at my brothers and bought a good digital camera finally! So here are some photos from the homecoming dinner that we had for Joe. 591st Spc e -4 :)

After many long plane rides a bus ride and a short run up the pavement in Chattanooga,TN you are finally home. Things were not the same without you.

Thank God you are home safe and sound.

The Long Deployment

July 08 Joe had to leave on deployment to Iraq. William was only 6 months old.

We knew it would be tough but it really took God to pull us through the hard times.

Joe was the first one to come home for leave. It was in Oct so by the time he got back from Iraq for good it at 7 1/2 months since I had seen him.

Now that he is back we are ready to start our lives again and we hope that you enjoy coming along for the ride with us!

Much love !
